Power When the Lights Go Out— a simple guide to portable power stations for every day homeowners.

Power When the Lights Go Out— a simple guide to portable power stations for every day homeowners.

Are you wondering how to protect your health and home when the power goes out during storms ? Come to the Alice Pendleton library on Tuesday, February 17 from 6 PM to 7 PM for a hands-on discussion about small home batteries.

Al Cross, who gave a lightning round talk on batteries at the September Energy Committee program, will present an extended demonstration of small, relatively inexpensive batteries for home use. You can plug your refrigerator or your CPAP into one of these batteries when the power goes out, for example, then recharge the battery by plugging it into a wall socket when the power comes back on or using a solar panel.

This talk is sponsored by the Islesboro Energy Committee in cooperation with the Alice Pendleton Library. A light dinner of pizza and soft drinks will be provided by the energy committee.
